· Tiny Pinkish-White bell-shaped flowers (stalks 1-3’ tall) - early June to August
· Grow more vigorously and have the best leaf coloration when they are planted in locations with partial shade, particularly in the afternoon
· Purple leafed cultivars can tolerate more direct sun

Companion Plants:
· Blends well with other shade loving perennials including Astilbe, Dicentra, ferns, Hakonechloa, Helleborus, and Hostas

Preferred soil:
· Tolerate drought and will grow in average to moist soil but prefers well-drained

Pruning and Maintenance:
· Time – early Spring or late Fall
· Throughout growing season:
o Deadhead spent flower stalks at the base just above the soil to encourage repeat bloom
o Remove dead, badly damaged or discolored leaves to keep the plant looking fresh and healthy
· Trim away all dead and damaged leaves from the plant in the early Spring, before new growth appears but after the last hard frost
· Divide every 3 to 4 years if they lose vigor or when the crown gets too large
