Pruning and Maintenance:
· Time – late Winter
· Deadhead old flowers to encourage new blooms
· Keep plant full and encourage new growth - Prune 3 – 10 inches from the tips in Spring
· Keep Small – Prune to almost ground level in Spring
· Keep large or natural looking – minimal pruning of old wood and suckers
· Rule of thumb for Roses – Don’t prune if a frost is anticipated within 6 weeks to avoid winter dieback

Fertilize
· Do not fertilize newly planted roses
· The simplest way to feed your roses is to apply a granular rose fertilizer such as 6-12-6, every four weeks. Stop feeding after mid August as the rose needs to prepare for winter
