Flower / Foliage:
· Salmon speckled flowers with Burgundy centers – 2nd week in June
· From "The Originals" series, Passion 4 You. They perform equally as well in the garden as the “Tiny” series of Lilies
· Strong stems with 7-9 buds per stem
|
Preferred soil:
· Fertile, moist and well-drained soils
· Best in average to evenly moist conditions, but will not tolerate standing water
· Need a steady supply of moisture, particularly during the growing season. Appling mulch is a good way to conserve moisture
· Asiatic lilies adore full sun on their blossoms but cool shade on their root system
|
Pruning and Maintenance:
· Time – Fall
· Remove flower heads as they die back. Carefully remove each flower where the flower head joins with the stem so you do not effect future flower production
· Never remove foliage until completely dead since this provides important continued nutrients to the bulb
· Remove dead foliage in the late Fall or Winter by cutting off the plant at soil level
|
Propagation:
· They reproduce very freely from year to year if planted in a spot with good, well-draining soil and good sunlight and if they are allowed to flower and die back naturally and if fertilized regularly
· Divide every 3-4 years
· Best time - in early Fall after the foliage has wilted and turned yellow
|
Fertilize
· Fertilize with a slow-release phosphorous rich fertilizer in the early Spring and again when the blossoms begin to form
