Pruning and Maintenance:
· Time – Fall
· Clip off the stems at ground level and cover with 4 to 6 inches of mulch for protection during the Winter

Propagation:
· Divide pixie lily bulbs when the leaves turn yellow after the 2nd year of growth or every 2 -3 years
· Loosen the soil with a garden trowel, taking care not to puncture the bulbs. Clip the plant off, leaving 1 inch of stem attached to the bulb
· Separate the bulbs that have multiplied. Wipe off any soil and place the bulbs on a cool, dark shelf for three months before replanting

Fertilize
· Fertilize with a slow-release phosphorous rich fertilizer in the early Spring and again when the blossoms begin to form

Health Issue - Infestation
· Pixie lilies are susceptible to infestation by common insect pests like aphids and beetles
· Mix 2 teaspoons mild liquid dish soap and 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper with 1 gallon of cool water
· Spray your plants with the soap and cayenne solution once a week to discourage insect pests, if necessary
· Hand-picking the adult red beetles. Remove their larvae (red-orange and brown eggs) undersides the leaves
